The Lipstick Melodies cut their teeth on the live circuit with a summer residency at legendary Earl’s Court venue The Troubadour. Shortly after, the band hit the road on a tour of Great Britain opening for Peter Doherty. The band won over sell out crowds in venues stretching from Southampton to Scotland. On their return to London The Lipstick Melodies kicked off a monthly evening of madness at Camden bolt hole, Bar Solo, called ‘Together with the Blues’, where they collaborate with artists such as Bob Weston (Fleetwood Mac).  The night is already famous for spur-of-the-moment sessions and crazy happenings.  The Lipstick Melodies have also played ‘pop-up’ gigs across London, including the famous ‘Facebook Riot Gig’ hosted at a Park Lane mansion.

The Lipstick Melodies are a five piece rock and roll band from North London. The brainchild of Tottenham native Alan Wass, whose previous band Lefthand was signed to Alan McGee’s Poptones label  and their debut EP was produced by Clash legend, Mick Jones.  After leaving Lefthand, Alan then worked as a solo artist and at the same time, he also produced Florence And The Machine , Donkey Kosh and also began writing with the English rocker-poet, Peter Doherty.

The Lipstick Melodies were born on a Jack Daniels soaked night, when Alan was inspired to create a new band based on the two forces that ruled his life: talent and anarchy.  Alan assembled a band of the wildest, most gifted musicians in London, consisting of: Richie Steven/ keys, Sky Murphy/ guitar, Alexi Christou/bass and Phil Clarke/drums, combining the anarchic spirit of North London with a romantic vision of American rock.
